Park & Rec News

Welcome to Cullman County Parks and Recreation.

Our vision is to provide the public with clean, well-maintained parks that are tailored to a family atmosphere and to provide a variety of activities and leisure opportunities for our visitors. Our three parks - Clarkson Covered Bridge, Sportsman Lake, and Smith Lake Park - provide facilities for camping, swimming, family cookouts and gatherings as well as mini golf, rides, and playgrounds. Numerous special events are held at the parks throughout the year, such as the Cullman County Strawberry Festival, a huge Independence Day Celebration, Ol' Fashioned Days, the Echota Cherokee Indian Festival and a whole lot more.

We like to think our parks are the perfect solution for the need to get away. But, don't take our word for it: come try us out for yourselves. And bring the whole family. We've got a little something for everyone.
